Both packs on this page are built around the same measurement: a padded compartment that takes a 15.6-inch laptop and stops there. On the anti-theft pack the compartment opens from the back panel on its own zip, which is what makes the machine easy to pull at a security line and hard to reach while the bag is on your shoulders. The college pack for women puts the sleeve behind the main compartment instead and gives up two inches of depth for a lighter shell.
The difference people choose between is the lock. Three dials sit on the pull of the main zip on the anti-theft bag; they arrive on 0-0-0 and are worth twenty seconds of a stranger’s patience once you change them. The women’s pack has no lock and no charging port, weighs less, and costs about six dollars under it. Both take a luggage strap over a suitcase handle, and both are water-resistant enough for a walk from the parking lot in rain.

Will a 16-inch laptop fit a Mancro laptop backpack?
No. The sleeve is cut for 15.6 inches measured with the machine bare, and a 16-inch screen: or a 15.6-inch one inside a hard case: sits proud of the zip. If your machine is over 15.6 inches, the garment and travel cases on the shelf next door are a better place to look than a backpack.
Does the Mancro charging port come with a battery?
It does not, and this is the single thing people find out too late. The port is a socket on the side panel with a short cable threaded to a pocket inside the bag. You put your own power bank in that pocket. With the pocket empty, plugging a phone into the outside of the bag does nothing at all.
How do you set the lock on a Mancro backpack?
It leaves the factory on 0-0-0. Open it on that code, hold the reset pin down, turn the dials to the number you want and let the pin back up. Do it at the kitchen table rather than in an airport, and write the number somewhere that is not the bag.
